PROJECT ZURU

At Project Zuru we believe “Every Child Deserves to Dream". We believe nurturing the dreams of children is not merely an idealistic sentiment but a crucial step towards building a fairer, more prosperous society. By recognizing the power of dreams in child development and addressing the barriers that hinder their realization, we can collectively foster an environment where every child can dare to dream and have the resources to achieve those dreams.

CARE PACK

Our initial experiences have a profound impact on shaping who we become, with some memories lingering in our minds for a lifetime. While positive encounters can bolster our self-esteem and foster a strong sense of self, negative experiences can deal a severe blow to our eventual personality.

Flowers in Chania

Among these critical moments, the onset of the menstrual cycle in young girls from dysfunctional families holds a unique significance. That period of transition can be fraught with challenges and emotional turmoil, exacerbated by the circumstances surrounding their upbringing.

Understanding and addressing the complexities of this delicate phase is vital in providing the necessary support for these girls to navigate their journey toward womanhood with confidence and resilience.

MASKS OF DESIRE

"Masks of Desire" is a compelling narrative that follows the journey of Brenda, a college girl in urban Kenya who becomes a victim of organized crime, challenging stereotypes about femicide victims and shedding light on the systemic issues perpetuating gender-based violence. Through Brenda's harrowing ordeal, the film provokes critical dialogue and inspires action, calling for societal transformation and justice in the face of the epidemic of femicide.

Masks of Desire

Brenda's story challenges the pervasive stereotypes surrounding femicide, dispelling the notion that victims are somehow complicit in their own demise. As her narrative unfolds, we witness the unraveling of a life once brimming with hope, now ensnared in the merciless grip of exploitation and violence.

Through the lens of Brenda's struggle, Masks of Desire confronts the uncomfortable truths lurking beneath the surface of society, exposing the systemic failures and ingrained prejudices that perpetuate the cycle of gender-based violence. As Brenda's family and community grapple with the devastating aftermath of her tragedy, the film delves deep into the complexities of victim-blaming and the urgent need for empathy, understanding, and systemic change.
